Some so-called hacks are anything but a hack. Here’s an easy homemade cake hack! Buy a cake mix and follow the package directions. It’ll change your life! Not a hack. But mixing cake mix and soda pop, now that’s a hack. The reason it will change your life is because it makes a delicious soda cake and all you need are two ingredients: cake mix and soda. Of course, you could count the topping of your choice as a third ingredient.

Now, there are slightly more complicated variations of the basic two-ingredient cake mix soda cake. For instance, you can add some whipped egg whites for a lighter cake. However, the simple version still turns out a moist and delicious cake and one that your kids will love. The flavor of soda you choose will determine the flavor of the cake. You can have lemon-lime, orange creamsicle, strawberry, and even grape. People even make Dr Pepper cake and Pepsi Cola cake. Although I haven’t tried it, apparently Dr Pepper and German Chocolate Cake mix is a good combination.
