This policy is valid from 03 September 2012 and covers posts published here on CulinaryLore.com.
This blog is a personal blog written and edited by one person.
The compensation received will never influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog. All advertising is in the form of advertisements generated by a third-party ad network. Those advertisements will be identified as paid advertisements.
Also, from time to time, affiliate links to specific products are placed within articles, specifically to Amazon.com. Not all pages, however, will contain affiliate links. So, if such a link exists on a page, the existence of affiliate link(s) will be disclosed at the beginning or end of the article, which reads: “This article contains one or more Amazon affiliate links.” An additional link to this full disclosure will also be provided.
In addition to these disclosures, a general heads up that CulinaryLore is a participant in the program is found at the bottom of the sidebar on desktop and at the bottom of the page on mobile phone versions of the sites. This announcement reads: “We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.”
In addition to textually referenced links to products within articles, other types of Amazon advertisements may appear on pages that include text and images of recommended products or related products. These will be marked as advertisements. These and other promotional banners advertising special programs or discounts, and clearly identifiable as Amazon promotions, are covered by this general affiliate disclosure.
An affiliate link means that if you click on the link and make a purchase, I may be paid a small commission. This affiliate relationship will not increase the price of your purchase. I only use affiliate links when I have a reasonable belief (based on research and/or personal experience) that a product or service may be worthwhile. However, you must still make your own determination as to the value and reliability of any products or services linked to from this website. From time to time, I may link to a product for informational purposes. At those times I make it clear from the context of the link whether or not I am actually recommending the product (this is rare).
I am not compelled in any way, by any person or organization, to place certain links to certain products, nor do I ever receive or accept direct compensation for reviewing or linking to a product. I receive regular offers for an increased commission in exchange for linking to specific products and I never, ever, accept these offers, even though they may be high quality. As well, even though I could make hundreds of extra dollars a week by doing so, I do not accept paid sponsored posts of any kind. The products that I link to are chosen by me, at my own discretion, and I will only be paid should you make a purchase from Amazon as a result of clicking on one of these links. A great deal of work goes into producing the many informative articles you find on CulinaryLore, all of which are produced by one person.
I would ask that if you do purchase a product after clicking on a link from this site, that you allow me to collect this small commission, to help support the site’s expenses, and help me make a living. These commissions in no way add to your cost. However, if you wish to purchase a product after clicking on a link, but would prefer that I not receive a commission, you can disable this commission by clearing your browser cache of any Amazon cookies, or by simply clearing all cookies. Remember that clearing all cookies may sometimes sign you out of membership sites. It is usually possible, however, to clear cookies received only from the last hour, or last several hours. Not opting to clear your cookies, however, helps me to continue doing what I love to do so much: Write interesting articles for CulinaryLore! Hopefully, you like it as well. Any purchases you make, of course, are at your own discretion, and you should compare and research to make sure you get the product that is best for you.
